What laptop hardware runs great with Slackware or Linux in general?

Looking for a laptop with power. I am considering running Linux, perhaps slackware or OpenDaw (64 Studio). Any successful configurations? TIA

Intel, nvidia, Realtek, atheros, broadcom. All tend to have good linux support on thier chipsets.

System76 and zareason also make systems with linux pre-installed.
